Grammarly now sells Free, Pro and Enterprise; Pro is the plan that replaced Premium. The price on grammarly.com/plans follows the visitor's location: checked October 2026 from a European server, it showed Pro at EUR 12 a month on annual billing, so open the page from India to read your rupee figure. On the figures we saw, monthly billing costs far more per month than yearly billing, there is no individual student price that we could find, and payment runs through international cards or PayPal; UPI is not on Grammarly's list. We sell shared access to Grammarly's paid writing tier at ₹199/month, or inside plans from ₹399/month. That makes us an interested party, so every Grammarly number below names its source and date.
Search Console tells us what people in India type before they land on our Grammarly page: "grammarly price in india", "grammarly premium price india", "grammarly subscription india", the student discount, and a steady trickle of people asking how to buy Pro from Nepal. Most of them are writing something that matters to them in their second or third language. It might be a statement of purpose for a master's abroad, cold emails to US clients, or a dissertation chapter due on Friday. This guide covers the price question, including the awkward part: we cannot see the rupee number ourselves.
The plans page lists three tiers. Free, Pro and Enterprise are the only names on the cards, and "Premium" survives in one FAQ answer about switching. Here is what each tier included when we read it.
| Plan | Price we saw (EU fetch) | AI prompts | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | EUR 0 / month | 100 a month | Spelling and grammar fixes, tone detection |
| Pro | EUR 12 / month, annual billing | 2,000 per member a month | Full-sentence rewrites, tone adjustment, fluency suggestions, plagiarism and AI-text detection, 2 user groups, 1 style guide, 1 brand tone |
| Enterprise | Contact sales | Unlimited per member | SSO, data loss prevention, BYOK encryption, custom roles, dedicated support |
Every figure in that table comes from grammarly.com/plans, checked October 2026. Pro is labelled "for eligible individuals and teams", so the old split between a personal Premium plan and a separate Business plan has been folded into one tier. And Enterprise is described as "available through Superhuman Go". The page does not explain that link further, and for an individual writer it changes nothing.
For an Indian buyer the rename matters mostly when reading older articles. An older post quoting a "Premium price in India" describes the same writing features you now get in Pro, but its figure belongs to a pricing table Grammarly has since replaced.
Grammarly's plans page decides the currency from where the request comes from. Our crawler runs on a server in Germany, so the page it received on 8 October 2026 said EUR in plain text beside every price, and its embedded plan data carried a country code for Germany. A reader in Pune or Kochi gets a different render. We could only have printed an Indian figure by copying it from another website, and those copies are exactly the stale numbers that make most "Grammarly price in India" results unreliable.
Open grammarly.com/plans on your own phone or laptop in India, with no VPN running, and read three things: the currency label next to the Pro figure, whether the figure is the annual or the monthly rate, and whether tax appears at checkout or only on the invoice. Screenshot it before you pay. If the renewal a year later comes in at a different number, the screenshot is your record of what you agreed to.
The headline Pro figure is the annual plan divided by twelve. The plan data inside grammarly.com/plans, checked October 2026, listed Pro at EUR 30 for one month, EUR 60 for three months and EUR 144 for twelve, which is where the EUR 12 a month comes from. On those October 2026 figures, a year of Pro billed month by month costs two and a half times the annual price.
The ratio is the part worth carrying over into rupees. If your Indian render follows the same shape, the cheap-looking number on the card is the yearly commitment. That is a good deal for a working copywriter who will use it every day for a year. It is a poor one for an MBA applicant who needs polished essays for eight weeks and then never opens the editor again.
The quarterly line exists for that middle case: a semester, an internship season, a visa file. If your need has an end date, price the shortest term that covers it and compare totals.
The Free plan is better than its reputation. It catches spelling, grammar and punctuation, shows the tone a reader will hear, and gives you 100 AI prompts a month, according to grammarly.com/plans as checked October 2026. For WhatsApp-to-email professionals who mainly want typos caught, Free is enough, and paying for Pro would be a waste.
Pro earns its price in a narrower set of jobs:
A quick test before paying anything: write your next three important emails with Free switched on and count how often you wanted a rewrite you could not get. If that count is zero, keep your money.
We looked in the two obvious places on 8 October 2026. The plans page has no student tier or student price, and its FAQ answers the discount question only for "educational institutions", linking to grammarly.com/edu. That page pitches Grammarly for Education to universities, with Authorship reports for instructors and campus-wide licences, and quotes no individual student price.
In practice that leaves an Indian student four options. First, ask your university library or IT desk whether a campus licence exists, because a licence the college pays for beats any discount. Second, use Free for daily coursework. Third, if you need Pro for a defined stretch, like dissertation submission or a round of SOPs, buy only that stretch. Fourth, if the budget is pocket money, shared access at ₹199 a month covers the paid writing features, and the monthly checkout means you stop paying the month you submit.
Be wary of sites promising a "Grammarly student coupon" for India. We could not find one on Grammarly's own pages, and a coupon that only exists on a third-party site is usually an affiliate link to the normal price.
Teams no longer have a separate Business card on the plans page. Pro itself carries the team features: 2 user groups, 1 style guide, 1 brand tone, snippets, team analytics and priority support, all from grammarly.com/plans, checked October 2026. Enterprise adds single sign-on, SCIM, data loss prevention, customer-managed encryption keys and unlimited prompts, at a price you get by contacting sales.
The FAQ on grammarly.com/plans notes that a team buying for 10 or more members on an annual plan can request an invoice and pay it by bank transfer, card, Apple Pay or Google Pay (checked October 2026). For an Indian agency that matters more than the per-seat rate: an invoice is what your accountant needs, and a bank transfer avoids running ten seats through one director's credit card.
A five-person content team in Noida or Indore sits in an awkward spot. It is too small for the invoice route and too cost-sensitive for ten annual seats. One workable mix is an owned Pro seat for the editor who handles client documents and cheaper access for writers producing first drafts.
Grammarly's payment FAQ, checked October 2026, accepts Visa, American Express, Mastercard, Discover and PayPal. UPI, RuPay and net banking are not on that list. Four things then happen between the price on the page and the debit on your statement:
Tax is the other unknown. Foreign digital-service sellers can add GST for Indian buyers, and the headline on a plans page usually excludes it. Read the final checkout total before you confirm.
We sell Grammarly's paid writing tier as shared access, opened in the cloud from our dashboard. You never receive a Grammarly password. It is not a Grammarly product, it is not a Pro seat in your name, and it runs against Grammarly's terms the way every group-buy offer does. In exchange the price is ₹199 a month on its own, billed in rupees, payable by UPI or an Indian card. (Prices follow the market switch if you are reading from elsewhere:
Grammarly also sits inside five of our plans. For a writer, the useful comparison is with QuillBot, the paraphrasing tool many Indian students already use, which is ₹199 a month on its own.
| Route | Price in India | Tools | QuillBot included? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grammarly alone | ₹199/mo | 1 | No (₹199/mo separately) |
| Essential Plan | ₹399/mo | 5 | Yes |
| Boost Plan | ₹499/mo | 11 | Yes |
| Advanced Plan | ₹1,499/mo | 25 | Yes |
| Super Ecom | ₹1,999/mo | 31 | No |
| Ultimate Plan | ₹2,499/mo | 91 | Yes |
For a Grammarly buyer, Essential is the obvious plan to look at first. At ₹399 a month it bundles 5 tools (Semrush, WordAI, Grammarly, Quillbot, Ubersuggest), so a student who wanted Grammarly and QuillBot gets both, plus the rest of that list. Bought separately, those two come to ₹398 a month. The Boost plan at ₹499 widens that to 11 tools for bloggers who also research keywords. Super Ecom (₹1,999, 31 tools) is for people selling online who want Grammarly for listings and support replies. Ultimate (₹2,499, 91 tools) only makes sense if Grammarly is a side benefit of a much bigger toolkit.
A shared account is the wrong place for confidential text: write client NDAs, medical documents or unpublished research in an account registered to you. A fair-use allowance also applies. Ordinary writing does not come near it; bulk AI generation can.
"Buy Grammarly Pro in Nepal" shows up in our data often enough to answer directly. Grammarly's payment FAQ, checked October 2026, names the same card brands and PayPal with no country list, so a Nepali buyer needs a card enabled for foreign online payments in whatever currency the plans page shows them. As with India, open the page from Nepal to see the local currency; our European fetch cannot tell you.
On our side, Nepal falls under the Global market rather than India. That means the $5 USD price for Grammarly alone, or $10 for the Essential plan, paid by an international card or USDT. Our UPI rail is listed under India, so from Nepal use the Global payment options. Choose "Global" in the market switch above and every price on this page changes to the figure you would pay.
| You are | Sensible route |
|---|---|
| Fixing typos in everyday email | Grammarly Free |
| Student with a campus licence | Use it, pay nothing |
| Student with one big deadline | Shortest Pro term that covers it, or ₹199/mo shared |
| Freelance writer, daily client work | Annual Pro in your own name if the work is confidential; Essential at ₹399/mo if it is not |
| Agency with 10+ writers | Pro on annual invoice, or Enterprise via sales |
| Buyer in Nepal | Grammarly on a foreign-enabled card, or our Global price at $5/mo |
If you are still undecided, run the three-email test on Free first, since it may turn out to be all you need. Before paying any seller, us included, read is group-buy access safe? for the checklist we hold ourselves to.

Grammarly sets the currency of its plans page from your location, so the rupee figure is something you have to read yourself at grammarly.com/plans while browsing from India. Checked October 2026 from a server in Europe, grammarly.com/plans quoted Pro at EUR 12 a month on annual billing, which tells you the structure but not your number. Shared access to the paid writing tier through us is ₹199 a month.
The grammarly.com/plans page we read in October 2026 lists three plans: Free, Pro and Enterprise. Premium appears only in its FAQ, which says Pro carries every advanced writing feature Premium had and that an existing Premium subscriber who switches gets a prorated refund for the unused time. Older Indian blog posts that still say "Premium" are describing the same writing features under the previous name.
We found no individual student price on grammarly.com/plans or grammarly.com/edu in October 2026. The education offer is aimed at institutions, so the realistic routes for an Indian student are a licence through the college if it has one, the Free plan, or shared access for the months a thesis or application is due.
Grammarly's payment FAQ, checked October 2026, lists Visa, American Express, Mastercard, Discover and PayPal. UPI and RuPay are not named, so plan on an international-enabled card. Our checkout for India accepts UPI and rupee cards, and crypto (USDT) as well.
grammarly.com/plans, checked October 2026, offers Pro with a 7-day trial, no payment on day one and an email reminder 2 days before the trial ends. Assume the trial turns into a paid subscription on the card you entered, so set your own calendar reminder as well and cancel in account settings if you do not want to keep it. Do not count on your bank to block the renewal.
No. You get the paid writing features inside an account other customers also use, opened through our dashboard, with a fair-use allowance. It suits drafting and editing your own text. Anything confidential, like a client contract or unpublished research, belongs in an account registered to you.
