QuillBot price in India: what Premium costs and how to pay less

The short answer

QuillBot does not show a rupee price on its pricing page, at least not to the browser we used. Checked October 2026 on quillbot.com/premium, Premium cost $9.95 a month, $39.95 for six months or $49.95 a year, which is the $4.17 a month figure the page puts up front. All of it is in USD, so an Indian card pays that plus the bank's conversion and foreign transaction charge. The free plan covers short paraphrasing and basic grammar fixes. If you need the full paraphraser without a dollar charge, we sell shared QuillBot access at ₹199/month with UPI, or inside the Essential plan at ₹399/month next to Grammarly and 3 other tools. We are a seller of that route, so check our numbers against QuillBot's own page before deciding.

QuillBot is one of the most used writing tools among Indian students and content writers, and the questions people type about its price are practical ones: how much in rupees, is the free version enough, can a student get it cheaper, will my card or UPI go through. Plenty of pages that answer "QuillBot price in India" print a single number with no date beside it. This one gives you the figures we read on QuillBot's own page on 8 October 2026, says plainly where that reading has limits, and then covers the billing side that a price table leaves out.

What QuillBot's pricing page showed on 8 October 2026

QuillBot keeps its prices on quillbot.com/premium. The visible page leads with one number, the annual plan expressed per month. The price data behind the page lists four billing terms, and we copied them as they came back to our browser.

Source: quillbot.com/premium price data, checked October 2026. USD, as served to a browser located outside India.
Billing termCharged up frontWorks out per month
Monthly$9.95$9.95
Quarterly (3 months)$19.95about a third less than monthly
Semi-annual (6 months)$39.95$6.66
Annual (12 months)$49.95$4.17

Two things to keep in mind when you read that table. The $4.17 headline is an average. On the annual term your card is billed $49.95 in one go (quillbot.com/premium, checked October 2026). And the quarterly row came from the page data, so if the term picker you see at checkout does not include it, that is a change on QuillBot's side since our check.

Why your number might differ from ours

We cannot promise you will see the same figures, and two things we saw explain why. First, our fetch was geolocated outside India, and each price record on quillbot.com/premium carried a regional tier field when we checked in October 2026, which suggests QuillBot can show different prices to different countries. Second, the same page data held a second price set, with $10.95 for a month and $54.95 for a year (quillbot.com/premium, checked October 2026), which looks like a price test running alongside the main one. Coupons and seasonal offers can move the figure again on top of that.

So log in from India, go to the upgrade screen, pick a term and read the total the checkout shows before you enter card details. That total is your QuillBot price in India for that day, whatever this page or any other blog says.

Free plan or Premium: what the paywall actually gates

A lot of Indian users never need to pay. The comparison table on quillbot.com/premium, checked October 2026, sets these free limits: paraphrasing up to 125 words at a time, two built-in modes (Standard and Fluency), basic grammar fixes, summaries up to 1,200 words, and limited use of the humanizer and AI detector. For rewording a paragraph of an assignment or tidying an email, that is often enough.

Premium removes the word cap on the paraphraser and opens nine built-in modes plus unlimited custom ones, according to the same page checked October 2026. It also adds:

  • Plagiarism checking, capped at 25,000 words a month on Premium per quillbot.com/premium (checked October 2026). The free plan has none.
  • Longer summaries, up to 6,000 words instead of 1,200 on the same comparison table (checked October 2026), plus custom summary formats.
  • Full humanizer and AI detector access, with history kept.
  • Advanced writing suggestions and tone insights in the grammar checker.
  • Use on up to 10 devices at once, as stated in the page's FAQ when we checked in October 2026.

If you mostly rewrite short passages, stay on the free plan. If you are paraphrasing whole chapters, need the plagiarism check before submitting, or rely on modes like Academic or Simple, Premium starts to earn its cost.

Where you write matters too. The comparison table on quillbot.com/premium, checked October 2026, lists a Chrome and Edge extension, a Word add-in, a macOS app and Android and iOS keyboards for both plans. If you do most of your writing on a phone between classes, the keyboard app on the free limits is a sensible first test before paying anything.

Monthly, semi-annual or annual: picking the billing term

The longer terms are cheaper per month, and the gap is large. On the prices we were shown (quillbot.com/premium, checked October 2026), the annual plan comes to about 58% less per month than paying $9.95 every month, and the six-month plan to about 33% less. That discount is real, but it only pays off if you keep using the tool for the whole term.

Students working semester to semester

The six-month term lines up with an Indian college semester better than the annual one does. Pay once at the start of term, use it through submissions and exams, and decide again later. QuillBot also lets you pause a subscription from your account page and says you are not billed while it is paused, per the FAQ on quillbot.com/premium checked October 2026. That helps over a long vacation.

Freelance writers with steady client work

If QuillBot is part of your daily workflow for content clients, annual billing is the cheapest retail option per month. The catch is the single large USD charge, which some Indian debit cards decline or flag. Try a small international payment on the same card first if you have never used it abroad.

Anyone unsure

Start with one month. The monthly rate costs more per month, but it tells you whether you use the paid features enough before you commit to a year.

Is there a QuillBot student price in India?

Not that we could find. The pricing page we checked in October 2026 showed Free, Premium and a Team plan, with no student tier and no India price. QuillBot clearly markets to students (its testimonials and its pause feature are aimed at them), but the price a student pays is the same Premium price as anyone else. Team pricing exists for groups: the FAQ on quillbot.com/premium, checked October 2026, says groups of 5 or more members get a single invoice with a discount. A college department or a coaching centre could ask about that. A single student cannot use it.

Sites offering a "QuillBot student discount code" are mostly affiliate pages. Some codes work, many are expired. Budget for the full price and treat a working code as a bonus at checkout.

How a QuillBot charge lands on an Indian card, and the UPI question

The payment FAQ we were served on quillbot.com/premium in October 2026 says you can pay with a credit or debit card or with PayPal. UPI was not mentioned. In practice that means four things for a buyer in India.

  • Your card must allow international online transactions. Many Indian debit cards ship with this switched off. Turn it on in your bank's app before checkout, or the payment fails with a vague error.
  • Expect a foreign transaction charge. Your bank converts the USD amount at its own rate and usually adds a markup. The statement figure will be a little above a simple conversion.
  • Decline a rupee conversion offer at checkout. If a payment screen offers to bill you in INR instead of USD, that rate is set by the payment processor and is usually worse than your bank's.
  • Renewals can fail. Indian banks apply RBI's e-mandate rules to recurring card payments, so an auto-renewal may need your approval or may simply not go through. Check your account page around the renewal date so Premium does not lapse in the middle of a deadline.

PayPal works for some buyers, though it converts at its own rate too. For most students the simplest working option is a card already used for other foreign subscriptions.

Our route: QuillBot at ₹199/month, alone or in a plan

We sell shared QuillBot Premium access, priced in rupees and payable by UPI or an Indian card. It costs ₹199/month on its own. QuillBot is also included in four of our plans, which matters if you use Grammarly or an SEO tool alongside it. (Prices below follow the market switch if you are reading from Pakistan or Bangladesh:

)

OptionPrice per monthTools included
QuillBot alone₹199QuillBot only
Essential plan₹3995 tools: Semrush, WordAI, Grammarly, Quillbot, Ubersuggest
Boost plan₹49911 tools, adding Moz Pro, Majestic and other SEO tools
Advanced plan₹1,49925 tools, including Ahrefs and ChatGPT
Ultimate plan₹2,499All 91 tools in the catalogue

The row most writers should look at is Essential. Grammarly on its own is ₹199/month here, so QuillBot plus Grammarly bought separately costs only ₹1 less than the Essential plan, which carries both and adds 3 more. If you only ever paraphrase, the standalone option is the cheaper way in. You can buy QuillBot access monthly or start with Essential; both are billed month to month with no annual lock-in.

QuillBot and Grammarly overlap less than people expect. Grammarly corrects as you type across apps and suggests sentence-level fixes. QuillBot rewrites a whole passage in a chosen mode and adds summaries and a plagiarism check. Writers who hand in client articles or long assignments tend to use both: draft and correct in one, rework a stubborn paragraph in the other. Essential is the cheapest of our plans that carries both.

What shared QuillBot access gives up

Shared access is cheaper for a reason, and you should know the trade before you pay us or anyone else.

  • You do not get your own QuillBot account. Paraphraser history, custom modes and documents saved in QuillBot Flow sit in a session other paying customers also use. Do not paste anything confidential into it.
  • Fair use applies. Ordinary student and freelance use is fine. Running thousands of pages a day through it is not what it is sized for.
  • It sits outside QuillBot's terms. Every shared-access product in this market does. Occasional interruptions happen when a vendor changes something, which is why we publish a live status page.
  • Academic rules still apply. A paraphraser does not make copied work original. Many Indian universities run their own similarity checks, and the responsibility for citing sources stays with you.

If any of those points is a deal-breaker, pay QuillBot directly. The retail product is good, and the free plan is generous enough to test it properly first.

Frequently asked questions

What is the QuillBot Premium price in India?

QuillBot's pricing page showed our browser USD prices only, checked October 2026: $9.95 for one month, $39.95 for six months and $49.95 for a year ($4.17 a month). We fetched from outside India, and the price data carries a regional tier, so open quillbot.com/premium yourself and read the figure at checkout before paying.

Does QuillBot charge Indian users in rupees?

Not on the page we were served. Every price record on quillbot.com/premium was tagged USD when we checked in October 2026, and the payment FAQ named only credit or debit cards and PayPal. If an Indian checkout shows you a rupee total, compare it with your bank's conversion of the USD price before accepting it.

Is QuillBot free to use?

Yes, with limits. The free plan paraphrases up to 125 words at a time in two modes, fixes basic grammar, and gives a limited humanizer and AI detector, according to quillbot.com/premium checked October 2026. The plagiarism checker and custom paraphrasing modes are Premium only.

Is there a QuillBot student discount in India?

The pricing page showed no student plan or student price when we checked in October 2026. What it does offer students is a pause option: you can pause Premium from your account page during a break and are not billed for that time. For a semester of use, the six-month term at $39.95 (quillbot.com/premium, checked October 2026) is the closest fit.

Can I pay for QuillBot with UPI?

QuillBot's payment FAQ, as served to us in October 2026, lists cards and PayPal and does not mention UPI. A RuPay or Visa debit card enabled for international online use usually works. On our side, QuillBot access is ₹199/month and India checkout takes UPI.

Is shared QuillBot access the same as my own Premium account?

No. You use QuillBot's Premium features through a session shared with other customers, so saved history, custom modes and stored documents are not private to you, and a fair-use allowance applies. For essays and drafts that is usually fine. For anything confidential, a personal account is the better choice.
